About us

To explain what we do we find it easier to illustrate our role in your life as part of a crew of a ship at sea.

You (The Skipper)

At Exclusive we consider you, our client to be the Captain or Skipper of their own financial ship. The Skipper knows what they want to achieve and where they would like to go, but to get there without hassle, need the skills of a good crew.

Some skippers are happy to get on with the running of their own ship and only need help from the crew at certain times. Other skippers need or want more help from their crew. The choice is yours.

Your Financial Adviser (The Navigator)

We believe that your financial adviser is like the navigator of your financial ship. However and most importantly, you are the Skipper and your navigator is one of the crew on your lifetime journey.

At the beginning of any journey your Navigator will help you to clarify exactly where you are financially and what you want to achieve. Once the destination has been agreed they will help you to navigate a safe and swift course.

Along the journey, which may take many years, your navigator will help you to steer around the hazards of taxation and a volatile stock market. They will show you the best course of action to minimise the financial effects of death or illness and they will be available to give advice to other friends and family who need help navigating their own ships.

Professional Fund Manager (Chief Mechanic)

We believe that your investment funds should be managed by full time qualified professionals (Chief Mechanic) Your adviser will measure your tolerance for risk (how comfortable are you for your funds to rise and fall in value) and match your investment portfolio to you. They will continue to guide you through the rocks and tides of the investment world and recommend the best Chief Mechanic for your crew.

However, when it comes to the detailed decisions regarding which fund should be in your portfolio, they will leave that to the Chief Mechanic. Just as you wouldn't ask the Navigator to fix the engine, we wouldn't ask the skipper (you) to read the charts and look for hazards. So we leave this skilled task to a full time fund manager who will select a portfolio of funds from across the investment world. The Chief Mechanic will look at your portfolio each day and when he feels it appropriate he will make changes to improve the situation.

Should you wish to know what your chief mechanic is doing or thinking, he will put these thoughts in his diary each week. Should you wish to know more about the Chief Mechanics thoughts, just ask your Navigator for a copy of his diary.
